COMBATTING ILLICIT  TRADE

The illicit trade of cigarettes and tobacco products is a growing threat to U.S. national interests. Not only does it fund terrorist activities, but unlawful tobacco trade deprives federal, state and local governments of an estimated $3 to $7 billion in tax revenue annually. 

CPS is engaged by a Fortune 50 global consortium to provide a strategic, analytic and investigative approach to combat the illicit trade of its products across the globe. COUNTERING  VIOLENT EXTREMISM

The economic impact of violence containment was estimated to be $9.46 trillion dollars or 11 percent of the Gross World Product (GWP) in 2012. Terrorist activity alone increased 80 percent in 2014 compared to 2013.

As some of the foremost experts in the country on countering terrorism and violent extremism, CPS has led nationwide initiatives on behalf of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, state and local law enforcement agencies, as well as faith-based organizations to assist in the development of: strategy, policy, and program and training initiatives to help protect U.S. citizens against violent extremism. The training programs developed by CPS focus on the skills necessary to recognize potential threats, identify resources and take protective action.
